Homecoming...Oklahoma style

Every year we head to Oklahoma in June for my Dad hometown's homecoming! I remember going most years growing up and the girls have now been both years they have been alive.

Here are the girls last year! Crazy!

Every year there is a parade, It is a VERY small parade but we ALWAYS go. It has all the small town charm you could ever want! It only last about 15 minutes.

Poppy trying to keep the girls cool!

My uncle owns one of the buildings downtown along the parade route so we decided to watch the parade in the A/C. THANK GOODNESS!

Mimi playing with K

It's starting! They had their sirens going, M and K weren't sure about that part. Kinley doesn't really care for loud noises.

I had to run down and take a picture of everyone watching the parade from the window...Ok, and I made sure to grab some suckers for the girls that the people in the parade were throwing.

The girls were much more interested in the suckers than the parade

Our Family's ranch had a wagon in the parade.

After lunch we always head to the Lake for some Bar-B-Que and visiting. Madelyn was much more into it than Kinley, she decided to take a nap.

My family eating!

After lunch we decided to go play at the Ranch for a little bit. Madelyn and Kinley thought this little stagecoach was the best playground. Played in it most of the time.

Alex, the girls 2nd (I think) cousin came to play! He is a week younger than M and K.

Kinley and Alex

We actually got them to sit still for a sec!

Someone gave the girls cups with ice...they thought this was the best ever

It was so nice this year that they could enjoy being there more. They LOVED getting into everything and getting dirty. Mama didn't but they sure did.

Kinley "riding" Sambo

They spent a lot of time like this with Poppy.

My Twin aunts and my twins! Love getting this picture every year.

Over this weekend the girls starting "kissing". One of my favorite things they do.

Madelyn is my little dare devil and LOVES being thrown around.

The girls warmed up quickly to everyone! Which is nice because lately they have started getting pretty shy, especially Kinley.
The Twins with Uncle Ray

If you look closely you can see Poppy and the girls standing up on top. They were watching all the horses. They can't wait to take a ride!

I just loved this picture of Madelyn

We had a wonderful time even if it was SOOOOO hot! I am so glad to get to take my girls there and start making some of the same memories I had as a child.

Happy Birthday Poppy!

A couple weeks ago my dad celebrated his 60th birthday! My aunt had wanted to throw him a party and My mom and I put together the details...Sadly I have NO pictures of the decor and such. We did a 60's theme, it was cute and I think that he really enjoyed himself.

The Birthday Boy! (Poppy)
They have a pool and Madelyn and Kinley wanted so bad to go and play with their big cousins.

Poor Poppy, even on his birthday his hamburger wasn't safe.

Madelyn wasn't as interested in the burger as she was everything else going on but Kinley probably ate a fourth of it!
Chris was busy outside grilling burgers! Man, they were GOOD! I think he was quite hot though after he was done.

The girls finally won and got some time in the pool! Their cousins pulled them around like a train and the girls LOVED all the attention!

Kinley wanted out of her floaty and played with Daddy!

While Madelyn opted for a little homemade ice cream!

After the girls were out of the pool. Emily decided that she wanted to be a baby again and play in the floaty. This kid cracks me up!

Kinley and Ashleigh! I swear I would pay these kids to come and entertain the twins!

We had a wonderful time! Happy Birthday, Poppy! We love you!

17 months and playing Catch up!

Sorry I have been in a serious blogging funk lately!!! I don't know why, just too tired at the end of the day! Going to try to catch back up!

The girls turned 17 months old today! Crazy how fast this second year is going. I think faster than the first! The girls are more and more fun on one hand and on the other harder and harder!

The pictures are from our first bath in their newly remodeled bathroom! The girls have been using the baby tub till this month. (good thing the girls have stayed small!) We only have a shower in our master so that was our only option! They LOVE it, and it is so nice to have all that room.
Kinley
Weighs around 18 pounds

WALKING, and walking faster everyday! She is pretty good at the whole walking thing. She stumbles from time to time but just gets up and keeps going! She does this walking in place thing all of the sudden that is so funny!

wears 3-6 clothes but moving up to mostly 6-9 except for pants and shorts. The skinny girls wear a few newborn shorts, mostly 0-3 months though.

wearing 2-3 Pampers swaddlers

finally moved up to most size 3 shoes

Talks all the time. Repeats a lot! Says, ball, baby, mama, mimi, poppy, we are working on Grandma, ando (uncle andrew), sissy, dada, thankdo (thank you), jump, night night, no ma'am, uh oh.

Does the hand motions for itsy bitsy spider

She gives kisses.

Having a VERY hard time going to sleep at night. Never been a problem till just recently.

Cutting molars

Madelyn
weighs around 18 pounds too

WALKING!!! She is pretty good considering she has only been walking about a month

wears 3-6 and 6-9 and same size shorts as Kinley

wears 2-3 Pampers swaddlers

still in size two shoes. The girl has seriously tiny feet.

Isn't talking really, although she does say uh oh. Both girls are in Speech therapy.

Knows the motions for Itsy bitsy spider (and wants you to sing it all day)

She also gives kisses.

I picked out this seriously yellow paint. That is why the picture is so yellow

The knobs are so easy for the girls to turn, we are going to have to get new ones again.

We are enjoying our summer and getting out of the house to play! We met the Owen girls one day for some lunch and shopping! It was so great!!! We did catch lots of attention with two sets of twins!
We should have taken a picture in the beginning because all four girls were DONE!
