Not much to report!

Well not much is going on in the Tarrant household this week. I have been trying to think about what to blog about and I was not having much luck coming up with anything. We did go to Austin last weekend but I took pictures with my camera and can't find my cord. I hardly use it(until the twins were born) but now I am in the market for a new camera. Any suggestions???

So after the trip I have had a normal week for the most part. I did get a morning off from the kiddos and got to scrapbook with one of my best friends. Thanks Chris!! I have not scrapbooked since way before I was pregnant. So now I have officially started on the twins scrapbook. I have two whole pages done!!!

Anyways, I could not think of anything to blog about so I thought it would be funny to show you some outtakes from our 3 month/mother's day photo taking. I think we got some really good shots but for those 5 or 6 good ones I think we got 100 not so good. I do however like to keep some of the not perfect ones because it shows what it is really like.

Hanging out with the teens!

One of the perks of Chris being a youth minister is all the fun things we get to do. On Sunday Chris took the teens ice skating at the mall. The Girls and I decided to tag along for the ride. We didn't skate but we enjoyed getting out of the house and of course watching the teens skate...and fall down.

Madelyn and MeOverall we had a pretty good time hanging out with all the teenagers. The girls slept most of the time we were there. Got to love Car seats that you just pop in and out of the stroller and the car.

On Sunday night we decided to get out the bumbo seats and see how they liked them. I have heard that babies usually hate them at first. Let me tell you my girls LOVED them...for about 5 minutes. They looked like such big girls sitting up in the bumbos.

This week the girls caught their first bug. It started Sunday night with Madelyn and then Kinley followed her sister Monday morning. Stomach bugs are no fun!! After a few days of laying around and wanting mommy to hold them all day, we are all better now. This weekend we are going to Austin to visit Chris' brother...Uncle Clint.

My First Mother's Day!

My First Mother's Day was great! The girls slept from 10 to 6 that night! Chris got up and helped me feed both of the girls without me having to nag him several times to get up. Trust me that was a present in itself. I got to take a shower while the girls napped again. It was the first day that getting ready for church was not hectic. I opened presents from Chris and the girls before we left. I got the coolest Back Pack Diaper bag. Trust me it makes my life so much easier, I have both of my hands free to carry babies! One of the things I wanted for Mother's day was to have a relaxing day! It's hard with two newborns but thanks to Chris he made it happen.

After Church we went out to eat with my family and Chris's mom and brother. We gave MiMi (my mom) and Grandma (Chris's mom) their presents. We forgot to take the camera in so we don't have any pictures. I made sure to get some pictures of the girls and I at home!

We have been working on our yard. Since we moved into this house we have not done much of anything to the outside. Our yard leaves MUCH to be desired! After lunch My parents went with me to pick out flowers and stuff for our flower beds. They are a lot better than me at knowing what grows where. My Dad helped me plant some of the things I bought. It was such a pretty afternoon I brought the girls out in their bouncy seats! They LOVE listening to Poppy (my dad) talk to them. They have started smiling a lot in the last two weeks especially to him!

Overall I could not have asked for a better Mother's Day!

Im so sorry I have been neglecting the blog. We have had a lot going on this week and to top it all off...our internet was down for a few days!!!

The girls are doing great and have actually been sleeping through the night for about a week!!!! It is amazing. I am however still having to wake up and pump. Really trying to keep pumping so the girls can get breastmilk but it's getting harder and harder.

I have been so busy this week I have not even had time to upload our pictures from this week, including my first Mother's day.

Over the last few weeks I have been sending out birth announcements. I know the girls are three months...I thought I would show it to you all since I don't know how to send to all our internet friends.

For those of you know me I love to scrapbook and do things like that. However since the twins have entered my life I have not had time at all. I searched and searched all over the internet for the perfect annoucment. I could not find exactly what I wanted. Not a whole lot out there for twins. Alot of the same thing. I decided to check etsy...I found Sara(her blog) from Less Ordinary Designs (etsy shop) She did a custom design for me and I fell in love with it. I hope you guys enjoy it too.

Busy week but LOTS of fun!!!

This week the girls turned 3 months old. Can you believe it? I CAN'T! In order of the girls month birthday we took some pictures...Shocking I know. I really thought they turned out cute so we decided that they could go for mother's day presents for the grandmother's!!

The girls and I have really enjoyed getting out more this week. As most of you know that read Suz's blog know that we went to the park on Suz's b-day and had so much fun. Ok, I know my girls didn't really get to play at the park, but they seem to enjoy being outside. They really seem to light up when the quads talk to them.

So much fun to be had with the Steece Quads!!!

Savannah is super cute with them and is so sweet. At the park she was trying to share with the twins some of the wood chips on the play ground. It was very sweet but of course the twins didn't grab for them yet so I thought she gave up...NO I was wrong, when I was taking the girls out of the car seats I found two wood chips in the bottom of the carrier!! I thought it was so sweet! Don't worry Sav, we will want to play really soon!!!!

So excited about my first Mother's Day!!! Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

Party and Pics!

Wow, so many posts this week!! I just have a lot to catch up on. Don't worry this one is not long mostly pictures.
Last weekend was my Aunt and brother's birthday. My brother turned 19(another post for next time) My aunt had her 60th birthday party on Saturday. We had a great time visiting with family.

The girls spent time with their cousin Meghan(right) and her friend! They loved getting carried around all day! I am pretty sure the older girls didn't mind either...until Madelyn had a dirty diaper!!!

My Aunt's son, my cousin is a Chaplin in the Army and lives in Seattle with his family. He is being deployed this summer. They flew him in and surprised my Aunt for her birthday. How cool is that. It had been a while since any of us had seem him. We missed the rest of his family though.
This week we have been using their swings more. I was cooking dinner and looked over and saw this. Both of the girls love to sleep in a little ball. We have since moved the swing where it lays back more!

We have been working on tummy time alot lately. They like it for a little while but soon get tired.

I have been thinking a lot this week about how big they are getting! My big 8 pound little girls. Hey, that is huge seeing as they were three and four pounds. It's bitter sweet I guess. We are enjoying them more and more everyday.

Birth Story part 2

Alright, so everything was set for 8! I was super excited and nervous, so many emotions running through my head!!! Chris had run home to get some things when the doctor came in and said that it was planned for 8. He walks in with movies for us to watch that night. Ha, cause we were going to have time for that now.
Anyways, the whole time I was in the hospital I was told you do not want Magnesium Sulfate, it's horrible!!! The nurse that knew how I felt about taking this, comes in and says "I hate to tell you this but the Dr. wants us to give you Mag". What else was I supposed to do...ok, I say. By this time Suz was there which was nice because she knew what it was like. HA, everything that I had ever heard about it was true. The nurse put it in my IV and it started to burn. Over the next hour or so, it started to feel like my insides were on fire!!!! I am not kidding, it hurt! The only positive thing about it was that it can calm you down. I totally needed that! Earlier that day I was given something that made my heart race, made me shake and my face itch. I was also given another steroid shot. By this point the steroid shot was no problem. I had been poked so many times.

A lady from the NICU came and talked to us about what was going to happen with the babies once they were born! I felt completely calm about them and felt like they were going to get very good care. It was all just happening so fast!! I got so many texts and phone calls. I knew that the three of us were being prayed for by so many, some people I didn't even know.

The anesthesiologist came and talked to me about all that was going to happen. WOW, this was the part I was dreading all day. Let me tell you I had the absolute best anesthesiologist in the world!!!!! Everyone really liked him.

It felt like time was going so fast and slow at the same time...I don't know how to even describe it. Visitors were coming in and out, I don't even remember who all was there. Nurses keep coming in prepping me for surgery. Like I had said earlier I had never been in the hospital as a patient before. The thought of surgery was pretty scary much less the thought of being awake through the whole thing.

While we were waiting for my OR to be ready, they had to let another lady go before me. Finally they came in to get me...I said goodbyes to my parents, and Suz. Everyone else was in the waiting room. They were telling me on the way that Chris would have to wait outside till I got my spinal and epidural. I was wheeled in and got up on the operating table. I was feeling pretty calm at this point. My anesthesiologist kept talking to me the whole time...he was such a blessing. As I was getting my spinal I was aware the people in the room were just talking and acting like this was no big deal. Of course they do this everyday, it was me that didn't. I was all hunched over and then a nurse comes in and asks, "how are you going to pay for this?" I sit there stunned at this question, thinking, wow what a weird time for them to ask that. I say somewhat drugged " my purse is in my room or my husband is outside" They laugh and say no she was asking because we are all ordering dinner. I remember thinking, wow, why are they talking about ordering dinner when I'm about to have babies.

At this point I am laying on the table and they are starting the pin poke test to make sure I can't feel anything. I start to feel like I am going to be sick. He said I am giving you something for that. In about five minutes I started feeling better. I ask if Chris can come in who had been waiting in the hallway. Who I found out later was doing this...wasting time taking pictures. He told me later that he was so worried about me while he was out there.


He comes in and we have about three minutes to talk. They tell me that I should not be alarmed if the babies do not come out crying, that's normal. They would at least show me the baby and then take them to be looked over. Looking back on it now I believe I felt so removed from the whole thing. Like I was watching someone else. I couldn't fathom that I was going to be a mommy.

Dr. Cornwell comes in and tells Chris that she does not care if he takes pictures. Which was really nice of her. There were so many people crammed into that room waiting on Kinley and Madelyn.

It all happened so fast. They pulled out baby A (Kinley) and said it's a Girl, and she is peeing all over me. I heard her cry. They very briefly showed her to me and took her to my right side. I could sort of see her but not well. In two minutes they pulled out baby B (Madelyn) and said it's a girl, and she is peeing on me too. Such a look into the future, I swear they pee on the doctor every time we go now.

While they are pulling out Madelyn they are cleaning Kinley off. They brought her over to me and let me "hold" her!!

I'm still not sure what to think at this point. I just looked at her thinking wow, this just came out of me. After a little while they took her away.

Chris comes over and says that Madelyn is having to go on a cpap. They had told me all this and that it would not be strange for a 33 weeker. Because she was needing more help Chris was not allowed to take as many pictures of her.

They did wheel her by me but I could not see her well because of all the tubes. Chris asked me if I wanted him to stay or go with them. I wanted him to go with them. They finished up with me and wheeled me back to my room. I did it! I was not pregnant anymore. For the first time in almost eight months they were not with me, a very strange feeling! I didn't get to see them until the next day! You can read about my first visit here!

While writing this I didn't realize how emotional I would get. Looking back at pictures I can see how far they have come!!! Thanks for reading! I know it took me a while but I am so glad I finally sat down and wrote it!
