Adjusted...1 Year!

The girls are finally 1 (adjusted age)!!!! It seems like they have been 1 for a while and we are just now at our due date! I remember when I found out I was pregnant (before we knew it was twins) March 24 was a date that seem sooo far away. It is the date I repeated 1400 times a day, whenever some asked "when are you due?" As soon as we heard it was twins, the doctor pretty much assured us that we would not make it to the 24th but it was still the date that everything went around!!! I think I will always remember March 24th as a special day!

The girls last year on the 24th! This picture just cracks me up!
Today we met Daddy for a quick lunch! It was nice to get out of the house.

Kinley, trying to talk me into getting out of the high chair.

When Maddie does not get her way, she puts her head down and cries! DRAMA queen!

It's ok now, I got a french fry!

Daddy gave in and got her out

We went and ran some errands after lunch. We went to Costco to pick up a few things...First we ran into another set of SWEET twin girls about two months older than M & K. Walked a few aisles over and ran into one of our favorite NICU nurse. It was so fun to see her and show her our "big" girls. While we were checking out behind the set of twins we had met, a lady came up to us and said "well this is weird there are two sets of twins right here and my daughter just found out she is having twins!" She asked if we had any advice..."how long do you have"!!!

Needless to say we ran in for a few things and it took a while longer than usual...We are used to things taking a little longer this days!

Spring Break!

The girls and I had a great week during everyone's spring break! One of my best friends and College roommate "Aunt" Becca came into town! I have to admit I know she comes to see the girls but I enjoy seeing her too! So nice to have an adult conversion during the day.

I was planning on seeing the kids I was a "nanny" for over their spring break. Becca got to join in on the fun. We decide to meet halfway at the Dallas World Aquarium. It was lots of fun but CRAZY busy on the last day of Spring break. I don't know what we were thinking. We had a great time seeing Amy and the kids though!

The girls waiting in line to get in. They were completely entertained by all the kids there.
Madelyn

Kinley
Where we got in line the sign said "if you are reading this sign, it will be VERY crowded, expect to wait 75 mins from this point" We waited a long time but I know it was not that long!

My first "kids", Oh how I miss seeing them everyday!

The shark tunnel

The girls thought the tunnel was pretty cool. They look a little scared in this picture, though.

Sweet girls!

Penguin!

Aunt Becca playing with Kinley.

Yes, she is almost as tall as me, pretty sure she is super proud of that too

Since the girls are riding more and more in the stroller without carseats they LOVE to play Peek a boo with each other.

Hands down, Kinley's favorite part!

a group shot. Trust me it's the best!

Ms. K with the twins. She is going to make a great babysitter soon!

The two K's!

We always have a great time when we get to see them...it is always too long! I love that my girls are getting to see them some. It means a lot to me that we are staying close. Leaving those kids was seriously one of the hardest things I have ever done!

Becca left the next day :( sad to see her go but sooooo happy she came to visit! I hope we get to see her soon. We didn't take a lot of pictures of anything else while she was here but we did remember to get the traditional "Aunt" Becca with the twins picture!

Getting to go outside!

The weather here most of last week was amazing! We did have a random 10 minute Hail storm one day but as in Texas tradition it came and went fast! Like I had said we have had a rough week or so. You know when things never seem to go right...that was our week. We are officially and completely off bottles and have been for about a week and a half. (post later) Anyways, I got off topic! One day when Daddy got home early we decided to take the girls to the park. They LOVED it!! You would have thought we had never taken them outside! Last time the weather was this pretty they weighed around 5 pounds! What a difference a year makes!

Madelyn enjoying the swing!

Kinley with her "mean" look. (it gets worse)

She decided it was ok, afterall!

Issac, the little boy I just started watching.

So after awhile we were there, this lady saw the girls swinging like that and wanted to take a picture. She said it was the funniest thing she had ever seen. I guess if you have never seen it, it looks silly!
Always staring at other kids

Seriously that is what they did almost the entire time.

Then we went to feed the ducks. Kinley really like watching them. (k, in the back)

After the park, Daddy had to do some work so we out of his way and went to the store. I have never been serious grocery shopping with the girls by myself. I either leave them with Daddy or he goes. Anyways it went GREAT! They sat down and didn't wiggle to get out at all. We got lots of attention and the girls even scored a free balloon!

Girls enjoying the balloon!
I wish the post ended there...about 5 minutes after I took this picture, we were in a wreck. It was in the parking lot so it was not too bad but so annoying! The girls and I were not hurt AT ALL. I was in the lane after backing out and a lady backed right into me! I ran out because it hit on Kinley's side but of course she was fine. I don't think she even really noticed it. The lady finally got out and tried to convince me that we were both backing out. I was not and was already in drive. Plus she hit the side of my van with the back of her car. I do have a pretty ugly dent. She asked "you don't want my insurance information do you?" HUH, do I have a dent on my car???? Anyways it has been a HUGE headache and I still don't have my dent fixed. I am hoping I get to take it in this week.

Not so good week!

(sorry, it is not great. I took it with my phone)

This is about how our week is going around here! It has been one of those weeks where nothing goes right. I will have a much better post but that is why I have not been blogging. Mama, is getting a night off tonight so maybe I can get a recharge!

1 Year post!

Ok, so I totally forgot about the 1 year stats! I don't know what I was thinking. This is my baby book, for now. Until I get time to fill out their real baby books. I will!!! I was really good about writing things down everyday that we did with them or things they learn to do. I did it great till their party and have not done it since! Ha, they have just gotten so much more active.

First haircuts!

For a while I had been thinking the girls needed a haircut. Not because I think they have tons of hair but because it was all sorts of uneven. Someone even asked me if I had tried to cut it myself it was so bad! My dear sweet friend and mom of quads, Suz was nice enough to do it for us! I mean, really what else does she have to do but cut other people's kids hair.

This first picture can tell you how much they loved getting them! Ha, actually Kinley was the only one that really cried. Madelyn was VERY squirmy and Kinley screamed!

First up, Madelyn! (Hair: very fine, still baby hair)

Always chewing on something!

I know, it is horrrible and uneven!

So much better!
Next up, Kinley (Hair: more full and thick)
Before it started

Give the girl a snack and all was better!

SOOOO much better!!!!
