“Treasure it” Tuesday

This weekend Chris took some pictures of the girls for his new photography website with his new camera. The girls were not feeling the photo shoot but we got a few it was HOT. Chris isn’t crazy about them but his mama was happy to get them! Anyways I thought I would use them for today’s “Treasure it” Tuesday blog!

Madelyn is constantly putting on shoes as I talked about it a couple of tresure it tuesdays ago. But currently she is OBESSED with a pair of flip flops that have purple jewels on them. She calls them her bip blops. The second she gets home she wants them on and that is only if I didn’t let her wear them out already. She even wants to sleep in them.

The girls are constantly playing in their play kitchen and love to bring you “lunch” and “dinner” with their play food. It usually doesn’t go together like cookies and toast or something like that but they ALWAYS bring you a spoon or fork always.IMG_3192 web Madelyn has started adding an a to the end of people’s name ex…Daddya, mommya and so forth…Kinley has even picked up on it and does it some.

They still ask for their Prize when they pee pee in the potty. Which I haven’t even them one in forever. Until today…We are having pooping in the potty issues so I starting to give them a prize when they poop in the potty.

IMG_3288 web The girls LOVE to look at pictures. Ones of themselves are their favorites to look at. No, they can’t always tell each other apart.

Madelyn and Kinley know all their animals and what sounds they make. They want to go over this all time.

Whenever Kinley wakes up from night time or a nap, she says when to you when you walk in there. I’m still awake, Mama. I’m still awake! Like you have left her in there for hours while she was awake.

They have been wanting to watch Alice in Wonderland (the cartoon) lately. Such a strange movie really but it’s cute. Madelyn CRACKS up when she drinks from the bottle and starts shrinking.

I just thought this picture was sweet…we were singing wheels on the bus. They were at the part “the mommies on the bus say shhh shhh”

Kinley does this lip thing with her finger (you can see it in this picture) She mostly does it when she is tired but lately she is doing it more and more. If you do it back to her she smiles and quits.

Madelyn calls all dresses or really any clothes she thinks are pretty…her pretties. She often wants to go to sleep in her pretties…seeing a pattern with this child!IMG_3405 webIMG_3401 web

Our 4th!

We started out the fourth at our city parade! We have one of the largest (at some point I know it was the largest) 4th parade in the Nation. We always went when I was a kid with my grandparents, and this was the first year we decided to brave the heat with the girls.

The girls eating breakfast waiting for the parade to start.

My parents, my aunts and cousins came to watch the parade with us! We had a blast even though it was EARLY and HOT! Madelyn waved her flag at everyone passing for like the first ten minutes of the parade too, she was totally getting into it!

The Cowboys float was passing out tattoos….Madelyn HATED it! Kinley however liked it and it took us at least a week to scrub that thing off.

Madelyn not enjoying the star!

After the parade we headed out to my Uncle’s ranch for our annual 4th of July lunch with family and friends.

IMG_2418

Kinley LOVES to play in the dirt and spent quite a while doing so.

IMG_2422Madelyn on the horse…she looks so tiny up there! Madelyn LOVES horses IMG_2437

She also got to ride the pony!IMG_2443 Kinley wasn’t so sure of it.

IMG_2444

We decided that we hadn’t done enough for the day (ha) and headed over to a very good family friend’s house for dinner and swimming. They also started a tradition with their grandsons that they build cardboard boats and have a “regatta”. It was SUPER cute and such a sweet tradition to have for their grandchildren. Nana (the grandmother, who my girls also call Nana) goes all out, with judging and prizes!

Their boats!

The judges…oh she also makes everyone wear a hat. I mean whats a good regatta without hats!

I just liked this pictureIMG_2471

And they are off!IMG_2489

It was a good race complete with crashes and a sunken boat!IMG_2497

The girls were VERY into watching the race

IMG_2486

Matthew even took the girls for a ride…wearing their life jackets of course!IMG_2527IMG_2531

Poppy decided to go for a ride…it was a very strong cardboard boat. IMG_2544

We finished off the evening watching fireworks with the Steece bunch! It was a great day!

Treasure it Tuesday!

I thought I would continue to do the Treasure it Tuesday blog this week! I had a few things about the girls I had already decided to do for this week but that will have to wait! Today we found out that our good friends that were visiting for work are leaving this week. So I thought I would talk about how much we treasured the time we got to spend with them!

The Huttons have come into our lives because of our twin girls! Our stories about the girls are VERY similar. Our pregnancies are just about the same, even to the day we had them. Both in our 33rd week and after no real problems we both developed horrible Preeclampsia bad enough (VERY BAD) to deliver the babies. And our girls are only 5 days apart! I only wish I would have found her blog when I was pregnant. Last May we were a hour or so away from where they live so we popped by to meet them! I was sooo glad we did! It felt like a instant connection!

We didn’t have our girls during this trip so we just got to meet the Hutton Girls!

We decided real quick that we HAD to get our girls together! I think we waited like a week!

IMG_1261 Over the last year or so we have texted, emailed, blogged and talked to keep up with each other! We even got to go to the Huttons for Alex and Avery’s b-day!

IMG_9413[4]

After that we were lucky enough to see them a few times off and on…and always enjoyed our time together!

IMG_9922[4] A while after this we were LUCKY enough to get the Huttons up here after a bad storm we had (they are insurance adjusters)

Trip to the zoo!

IMG_056523

The girls and I were so excited that we had our good friends here and that we could play almost everyday!

Mother’s day weekend!

IMG_1380[4]

After that visit we had our Twin mama trip and Kristi and I got some time away without the girls!

IMG_1219[5] After our getaway we were lucky again and they came back! Not only to our area but in our own town. The girls and I were pretty excited to hear that! Not sure who was more excited Madelyn and Kinley or me!

IMG_2577 M and K ask about AlexAvery every morning! IMG_2706

I think it is so neat to watch them play. They remember each other and the four of them play very well together. It is almost like they have a bond already!

Bff’s in training!

IMG_2602IMG_2691

We always have a good time with the Huttons and are extremely happy for the time spent together this year!. I know that we are going to be HUNDREDS of miles away for a while but look forward to playing again. I told M and K tonight that Alex and Avery were going bye bye (after Kinley asked if we could see AlexAvery) she started to whine and cry because we couldn’t see them. WE LOVE YOU GUYS and wanted you to know how much we treasured all the time we spent with you!! We might have to let the girls Skype every once in a while!
